We’re not going to attempt to make a comprehensive list of everything there is to do in the Tri-Cities – because there’s just too much going on around here!
We’ll curate a list of some of our favorites though.
Here we go!
Friday April 14:
On Friday, at 5:30 at the Wheelhouse Community Bike Shop, staff will be giving an introduction to bicycle safety and the rules of the road. Wheelhouse is a member-owned, non-profit bike shop aimed at building a better community through bicycles – sounds good to us!
The Bechtel National Planetarium will be hosting two public shows tonight starting at 7 pm. The first is “Stars of the Pharaohs” and the second is about “Planet Nine”. The first part of each hour-long show begins with a presentation in the dome theater showing the stars and planets, and the second half is a “full dome experience”. Sounds cool!
Tonight Portland-based singer-songwriter Brad Parsons and his band will be playing at the Emerald of Siam – one of the last good live music venues left in the Tri-Cities. (Their Thai food isn’t bad either!) The music is described as psychedelic rock and Americana – sounds awesome – show begins at 9 pm.
Saturday April 15:
On Saturday is a hike by Tapteal Greenway, starting at 9 am. The hike is at the Tapteal Trail. Tapteal Greenway is a non-profit group for conservation, education and recreation on the Lower Yakima River Corridor. Here are the details on where to meet.
Also on Saturday, Badger Mountain & Powers Brewery is hosting “Yo-Goat-a: Yoga, Baby Goats & Wine.” We’ve seen a lot of interest in this on social media, and were wondering… is it the goats or the wine that’s attracting people? It starts at 10 am but the goats will be there all day 🙂 Check out their event post on Facebook for all the details.
Confluent Space is hosting a public class Saturday starting at 10 am. It’s a mixed media zippered pouch workshop – I’ve been to some of the classes at Confluent before, this one sounds fun!
All day Saturday, Kennewick independent coffee shop “The Local” is celebrating its 4th anniversary! They’ll be giving you half off all drinks all day. Half-priced coffee? We’ll be there!
Saturday night there is an art gallery opening at Richland Uptown’s Adventures Underground comic store from 5-7 pm. The art is by Laura Turo, and there will be snacks and beverages!
Sunday April 16:
Easter Sunday brunch is on at Ethos Bakery and Cafe from 9 am – 2 pm. Seats are limited so make your reservations early!
On Sunday, Friends of Badger Mountain will be hosting another wildflower walk – it seems like this will become a regular thing which is awesome! This time, it’s on the Badger Mountain Skyline Trail, starting at 10 am. Click here for more details and directions to the trail head.
